CHOCOLATE CANDY CANE HEARTS

These chocolate candy cane hearts are a great last minute Christmas gift idea or even just a fun activity you can do with your kids.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
-Mini Candy Canes
-Chocolate Melts
-Lollipop Sticks (optional)
-Sprinkles and/or Lollies
-Cellophane Bags
-Curling Ribbon

1. Line a tray with baking paper, unwrap the candy canes and set them out on the tray. I didn't have any mini candy canes so I just snapped the ends off regular ones. Don't worry if you don't have lollipop sticks either these will work fine without them.

2. Melt chocolate in the microwave until smooth. Carefully spoon chocolate into the hearts and spread it out.

3. Place sprinkles or lollies onto the chocolate and allow to set. You can place them in the fridge just be aware that the candy canes may become sticky. I found some Christmas themed sprinkles at my local Woolworths and I also just crushed up the ends of the candy canes I snapped.

4. Place into cellophane bags tied with curling ribbon and ENJOY!

TIP: Take your time melting the chocolate, chocolate can burn very quickly. Start off with 30 seconds in the microwave at a time stirring in between. Decrease length of time as chocolate starts to melt.
